Full details of the role and benefits are below.
The Role
As a Student Caller you will:
Speak to Emma alumni (members) on the phone, chatting about their time at Emma and what they’ve done since leaving. This will not be cold-calling as everyone will have had the chance to opt out.
Update members on Emma’s news and activities as well as your experiences of Emma.
Have the opportunity to speak to successful members who may be able to offer career advice and become valuable contacts for the future.
Ask members for a gift to the College that will have an impact on the lives of future Emma students.
You should be:
Outgoing, friendly, self-motivated and enjoy speaking to people.
Reliable and punctual, and ideally able to attend all calling shifts (see below).
Tactful and discreet: all personal information must be treated as confidential.
Resilient, up for a challenge, and able to maintain a positive attitude: as with any job this role can be challenging at times, especially during quieter shifts when fewer members pick up the phone, so positivity is important.
Benefits for you:
Competitive pay at £12.61 per hour (please note this doesn’t include lunch breaks).
Free accommodation in college for the duration of the campaign.
A free meal on working days and the chance to win prizes and vouchers during shifts.
Full and ongoing training.
Valuable work experience and transferable skills – particularly in communications, fundraising and negotiation – for your CV.
Work as part of a team, with fun and interactive games during shifts.
Daily group pep-talks from your supervisor and support throughout.
Sense of pride and achievement knowing you’ve helped support the future of the College.
