Learn: Free Modern Irish Classes

Learn: Free Modern Irish Classes

Classes start: 10 October

With the support of a generous grant from the Irish Government, the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic will once again offer classes in Modern Irish during Michaelmas and Lent Terms. The classes focus on grammar and conversation and include readings of prose and verse, Irish language films, documentaries, and song archives.

Classes begin on Tuesday, 10 October. There are two one-hour class meetings per week.

The classes are offered free of charge to all students currently enrolled in the University of Cambridge and staff who are on the University, or a College’s payroll.

Those interested are invited to come along to the first classes, where you can determine your level, sign-up and begin learning Irish. Classes will be held in the English Faculty, Sidgwick Site, 9 West Road, Cambridge.
